The mejoranera is the most recognizable musical instrument from Panama. It is a small guitar with only five string.

It is played for acompanying the sung verses known as mejorana or decimas.

The mejoranera is completely handmade. The materials include several type of exotic, precious woods common in Panamanian tropical rainforests.
