During the Santa Librada Festivities, Las Tablas helds several contests centered around our folklore.
One of the most interesting events is the music instrument and handicraft making contests. This year, there were several categories such as violin, mejoranera, drums and cutarras. The former three being music instruments and the later being traditional open shoes.
In addition to those contests, there is also the Climaco Batista Violin Contest, our most prestigious violin competition in Panama. The event is attended by violin players of many provinces.
There are three categories: the youth contest, the open category, and the medallist category for prior winners of the open category.
